In the clinical setting, students are introduced to providing care for the patient and family with complex illness using the concepts of health promotion, safety, clinical judgment, leadership, patient centeredness and professionalism. This course is focused on the vulnerable patient which could include multisystem acute and chronic disease processes and physiological, mental and socioeconomic factors that put the patient at risk. The patient and family lived experience is emphasized. Prerequisite: Completion of NURS 2300 and NURS 2315. Corequisite: Concurrent enrollment in NURS 2400.
