Students learn the basic techniques of the sheet metal trade and how it is utilized in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications. Students summarize the history and development of the sheet metal trades and learn how to use the trade tools including hand, power, layout, cutting, bending, and forming machine tools. Students learn the layout of sheet metal, sheet metal trade mathematics, and the first steps of fabrication. Prerequisite: Instructor approval.
