MUSC 1035 Aural Theory I (2LB,1CR) [E] Instruction in how to hear (dictate) and read (sight-sing) music fluently. Includes simple and compound meters; basic rhythms (beats and first division of the beat); and diatonic melodies in major and minor featuring stepwise motion and skips within the tonic and dominant triads. This course is designed to be taken with MUSC 1030; MUSC 1010 may also be required as a co-requisite course depending on the results of the placement exam. Required for all music majors.
