Both theoretical and empirical research and scholarship in the field of mathematics education are critically analyzed. Students will develop a deep understanding of pivotal historical and contemporary literature that helped shape the field of mathematics education and begin a formative development of their research interests. Prerequisites: At least two of the following: EMAT 5100, EMAT 5200, or EMAT 5300.
