This travel course examines the history, culture, and art and of Florence from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance through travel to Italy and by emphasizing the political, religious, and artistic currents that contributed to its place of importance in the Renaissance.  Historic landmarks, monuments, and works of art, as well as influential thinkers, leaders, and artists will be examined, allowing students to develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the Italian culture and its contributions to Western civilization. This course partially fulfills the A, HFA, and IG requirements of the BAC program.
