This course provides a general introduction to history of flight, theory of flight, and foundational information for aspiring pilots. This course surveys the history of aviation, basic aerodynamics, aircraft performance, Federal Aviation Regulations, aviation weather factors and cross country navigation procedures. The course will also provide introductory information regarding radio navigation, radio communications procedures, human factors and aviation safety. This course does not fulfill ROTC requirements. This course satisfies credit requirements for Aerospace Science Minor (offered by the Department of Physics).
