This course is an attempt at the description, investigation and definition of "American Popular Culture," for example, the arts, and entertainment of the American people: sports, television, motion pictures, music, art, fiction, the press, decor, periodicals, etc. The approach will be inductive and empirical, exploring culture itself for information and discussing the broad general implications of American Popular Culture for the 20th Century and beyond.
