For students who want to be employed as tutors. This course fulfills the training requirement to work in the Utah Tech University Academic Performance Center. It also fulfills the requirements for CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) national tutor certification. The course gives a practical background for academic assistance and teaches student tutors how to empower other students with the skills and the confidence needed to succeed academically. **COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES (CLOs) At the successful conclusion of this course, students will be able to: 1. Apply tutoring best practices. 2. Create effective tutoring sessions. 3. Tailor tutoring strategies to meet the needs of diverse learning groups, having various characteristics. 4.
