Application of advanced practice knowledge and skills in the collaborative, holistic management of pediatric clients with acute and chronic illness in acute, rehabilitative, long-term, and home care settings. Focuses on analysis of the roles of the pediatric nurse specialist in a variety of caregiving environments. Through a precepted experience with a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, students have the opportunity for involvement in diverse aspects of the nurse specialist role while enhancing assessment and nursing care management skills. Critique and utilization of advanced practice nursing research findings related to child health care. Prerequisites: NUR 540, 542. Corequisite: NUR 541.
