This course includes an examination of the pathophysiology and nursing care of selected health problems. Application of the components of the nursing process is utilized for the holistic care of the individual. Topics related to metabolic, respiratory, cardiovascular, reproductive function and cancer will be explored. Students will apply the concepts of critical thinking, cultural sensitivity, health assessment, therapeutic nursing interventions and therapeutic communication skills. Prerequisites: BIO 107, 107L; NUR 110, 111. Prerequisites or corequisites: NUR 121, BIO 108, 108L.
