An introduction to the principles of general chemistry for students of the health professions. Topics include the structure, properties and reactions of inorganic compounds, nuclear chemistry, stoichiometry, gas laws, solution chemistry, thermochemistry, equilibrium, kinetics, and acid-base chemistry. Emphasis is on physiological and clinical correlations. 3 lecture hours per week. Pre-requisite: demonstrated knowledge of high school algebra. Corequisite: CHM 115L or permission of course director.
