This course explores the intersection of politics and sports, both amateur and professional, at the local, state, national and international levels. Topics covered relate to equality in sports (i.e. race, gender, class, age, ability), political activism, management-labor relations, government support and government regulation of sports, nationalism in and international relations via sports, and sports governing bodies, such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association and International Olympic Committee.
