Language Use courses provide students with a functional understanding of the grammar necessary for oral communication. Students learn to analyze authentic language use and then apply principles of oral grammar in producing more natural speech. This course emphasizes higher thinking and production in the target language, with great emphasis placed on the comprehension and production of metaphor. By the end of this course, students should be able to confidently interact with American peers in social and academic settings.
