A practical course in playing hymns and chants, accompanying, realization of figured bass, score reading and improvising in small forms. The historic and current roles of the organ in the liturgy are discussed. Prerequisites: three years of organ study, completion of level 203 in a keyboard studio area, and MUS 164, or permission of the instructor. Offered in alternate years.
