3 credits (3+0) Provides students with exposure to the criminal investigation process. Included are an introduction to the historical foundation to current investigative techniques including the methods, principles, and technology involved in current investigation. Fingerprints, DNA and other modern crime scene technology are examined and explored. The CSI effect on current police investigative practices and the overall effect on policing will also be introduced. Prerequisite: JUST S110.
