3 credits (3+0) Survey of the structure and process of criminal justice agencies. Includes an introduction to criminal law, police, courts, corrections and criminology. Introduces students to the history of the criminal justice system in the United States and traces the origins and historical foundation of the present day systems and associated agencies, with a focus on law enforcement in our society. Also introduces students to various political theories of justice and principles of causation as it relates to criminal behavior.
