3 credits (3+0) This course will introduce the major genres and conventions of literature for children as well as develop critical skills for reading, thinking, and writing about children's literature and culture. In learning about genres and ranges of children's literature, we will ask deeper questions about what we offer to children as truth, what we think about society and ourselves, and what we offer children as ways of growing up. Prerequisite: WRTG S211 or WRTG S212 (C 2.00 or better) or instructor permission.
