Basic genres of children's and young adult books, the history and philosophy behind the use of literature, and activities with students in response to literature. Course is delivered through a combination of weekly audio conference, video, readings, and individual and group activities. Addresses Alaska Teacher Standard four with respect to content knowledge of literature.
