4 credits (3+4) Theory and laboratory covering the fundamentals of organic chemistry including functional group reactivities, stereochemistry, and spectroscopy. The laboratory provides practical experience with emphasis on organic synthesis, natural products, and structure identification. Four hours of lab per week required. Prerequisite: CHEM S106 with a C or better.
