The course will introduce students to the biology and diversity of cetaceans, pinnipeds, sirenians, and other marine mammals. Topics will include evolution, ecology, reproduction, and behavior of marine mammals, their special adaptations, such as diving, osmo- and thermoregulation, and will explore some current conservation and management issues. The course will be structured in a lecture format. Prerequisites: BIOL F116X or MSL F212. Offered Spring Even-numbered years
