This course provides an introduction to cybercrime. The history of cybercrime in the U.S. and the resulting law and regulatory enviroment it has resulted in are covered. Techniques and resources for investigating cyber incidents will be presented, as well as the methods used to commit malicious or criminal acts. Active elements of the cyber underworld, including organized crime, terrorist and state sponsored activity, will be discussed. Finally students will become familiar with legal processes they may find themselves a part of, litigation, depositions and expert reporting. Prerequisites: HSEM F301, AIS F310 or AIS F316.
