A quantitative approach to computer architecture and parallelism, which addresses both the software and hardware aspects of parallelism in modern computing systems. Specific emphasis will be placed on instruction-level, thread-level, data-level, task-level and request-level parallelism, and developing parallel application code in assembler and high-level languages for systems such as graphics processing units (GPUs). Registration Restrictions: Admission to BS Computer Science, BS Computer Systems Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering, or instructor approval
