BGST 400 - Senior Synthesis Seminar

Institution:
College of Charleston
Subject:
General Studies
Description:
Senior Synthesis Seminar serves as the culmination of the Bachelor of General Studies degree. It calls upon students to confront and analyze a fundamental and wide-ranging question - for instance, how should we take care of people who can't take care of themselves? Should we have a living wage? Are human beings well-suited to democracy? Students use perspectives, knowledge, and skills learned in multiple disciplines to create a project that addresses one aspect of this broad question. Finally, students integrate this project and other work to create an electronic portfolio that showcases what they have learned in their program of study.
