This is an intermediate course focusing on contemporary artists, practice and themes such as politics, gender, identity, place, material and processes in art making. Through the investigation of new ideas and the application of concepts, students will deepen their understanding of the relation between making and meaning in art. Conceptual thinking, ideation and hands on making will be integrated through readings, discussions, written assignments and studio projects.
