Builds on skills learned in Beginning and Intermediate American Sign Language. Students will practice conversational skills and increase their understanding of the grammar of ASL including the use of space, facial grammar, semantics and syntactical structure. This course is taught in ASL and is designed for students who have demonstrated competency through former coursework, missionary service, or students who are native-users (CODAs). Students using ASL 3060 as an entry level class may receive vertical credits for lower level courses upon passing ASL 3060 with a grade of C or higher. Placement in Advanced American Sign Language classes require a screening for competency and skills. Placement is at the discretion of the Department Chair. Prerequisite: ASL 2020 (Grade C or higher).
