Topics include the origins and development of number systems, algebraic notation, algebraic techniques, computational tools, Euclidean geometry, calculus, linear systems, probability, and statistics. The course is intended to provide a historical perspective on the nature of mathematics and its application appropriate for prospective mathematics teachers.
