Description: An examination of 3,000+ years of art and architecture in ancient Egypt from the Neolithic through the Late Period. The approach will be roughly chronological. Emphasis will be placed on examining singular monuments or objects in their historical context. Through lecture and directed readings, students will also discover ancient myths and religious beliefs, and explore the political and cultural constructs of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
