Emphasis will be placed on the history of non-profits in the US, the institutional and organizational features that distinguish non-profits from other governmental and public entities, and the theoretical and practical models that shape the practice and design and management of non-profits. This course will also explore other challenges which have and continue to impact non-profit organizations. 3 credits
