Description:
This course focuses on the role portfolio assessment can play in highlighting student growth and achievement, empowering teachers and students, and effecting school change. Participants will read, discuss, and critique related literature, investigate the use of portfolios in classroom settings, reflect upon what portfolios reveal about literacy practice, and develope guidelines for collaborative portfolio review. Participants will also construct a literacy portfolio around current work with a student, either within or outside a school setting. Offered as needed.
