This course is designed to introduce teachers to the concept of multimedia and its use in the classroom. Teachers will learn how to critique software from a design perspective and formulate plans for developing computer lessons or presentations using task analysis and flow charts. After identifying the needs and characteristics of a particular target population, each student will design an instructional lesson or presentation including planning screen design, adding graphics and sound, choosing appropriate text, and outlining branching techniques. Copyright and Fair Use in the Digital Age will be addressed as well as the Licensing of Multimedia for classroom use. Powerpoint as a nonlinear tool will be presented for developing lessons and creating classroom presentations.
