This course is designed as an introduction to computer applications in teaching. The purpose of this course is to enable teachers to develop the skills needed to use technology in an integrated school curriculum. Topics covered include: application software; the Internet; web design; evaluation of educational websites/software; collaborative Web 2.0 tools; the ethics of computer use in the classroom and grant writing. As each topic is presented, related classroom applications will be demonstrated. Hands-on experience in the computer lab will be an integral part of the course.
