This course introduces students to the principles of gene manipulation with up-to-date information in prodaryotic and eukaryotic genetics. Microarray technologies and advances in recombinant DNA techniques are analyzed. Innovations in molecular modeling and bioinformatics are introduced covering topics in microbial gene identiication, challenges of the human genome project and algorihms used in molecular genetics. 1.5 credits. Prerequistie: Enrolled in Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology program or permission of department chair
