This course emphasizes concepts which are basic to role transition from licensed practical nurse to registered nurse by focusing on health and illness across the lifespan. The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) concepts of patient centered care, evidenced based practice, teamwork and collaboration, quality improvement, safety, and informatics are introduced and applied. The course will provide opportunities for students to develop clinical judgment through experiences in the classroom, clinical, skills/simulation settings.
