This course provides an overview of network security, compliance, and operation security. It is aligned to the CompTIA's Security+ exam. It introduces and explains the various types of threats and vulnerabilities that qualify as cybercrime and breeches of information security. Key topics include confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assets and classification, identification, and elimination of threats including malware and internal and external hackers. Incident response techniques and development of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans are covered, as well as an emphasis on appropriate ethical responses and effective written and verbal communication to stakeholders. This course will prepare students for the CompTIA Security+ certification. Students will take the TestOut Security Pro certification exam.
