This course provides an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the vascular technologist as a member of the healthcare team. Emphasizes sonographic protocols and anatomy and physiology of the arterial system. This course introduces arterial hemodynamics and physiological factors that govern blood flow essential to the assessment of the circulatory system. Also discusses correlation of pertinent patient history and includes interpersonal relationships of the imaging department and patient management skills. Emphasizes real-time scanning techniques and imaging protocols through laboratory experiences while enhancing psychomotor skills.
