Description:
Cooperative education provides students with hands on experience in industry. Students gain practical experience, enhance skills learned in the classroom, and acquire contacts with professionals in business. This course requires students to complete 480 hours in the field, be evaluated by their supervisor and prepare a report. Students must be approved prior to beginning their co-op and should have a Q.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. This is a Pass/Fail course. Prerequisite: BMGT 280. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: (1) Enhance their learning through the combination of theory and practical application by fusing work experience with classroom study. (2) Develop maturity, responsibility and self-dependence. (3) Improve skills in human relations, teamwork and communication. (4) Heighten their motivation to excel both in the workplace and the classroom. (5) Describe experiences via periodic reports and professional journals. (6) Present projects resulting in final reports. (7) Recognize the importance of ethical behavior in the workplace.
