Drug and Alcohol Counseling-Professional, Legal, and Ethical Responsibilities is a one semester course, which provides an in depth overview of professional, legal and ethical responsibilities as they relate to alcohol and drug counseling. Specific emphasis will be placed on diversity, professional development, referrals, documentation, confidentiality, consent, and the professional code of ethics and standards of practice. This course provides 45 educational hours toward CADC certification or recertification. Prerequisites- PSYC 200 Introduction to Alcohol & Drug Counseling and PSYC 309 Assessment of Alcohol and Drug Addiction or current CADC
