The course is an exploration of Black participation in the larger American political system. The course is principally a historical analysis of Black political experience. Students will examine economic and cultural aspects of this experience, Black political ideologies, Black political leadership, voting behavior, deracialization, political movements, and Blacks in U.S. foreign policy.Prerequisites: Either PLSC 103 or PLSC 200 or consent of the Instructor.Credit, three hours.
