Mathematics and Data Analysis is a course designed to acquaint students with logic, sets and applications, problem-solving, number sense and percents, consumer mathematics,and an introduction to statistics. Mathematicss and Data Analysis is one of 3 interchangeable courses. Students can takeone either MTSC 107, 108 or 109 to satisfy the Mathematics Breadth Course in the General Education program, and can only earn credit for one of the three courses. MTSC 107, 108 and 109 all cover the same core mathematics content. However, they vary according to the extended topics of interest described in the titles. This course will help students develop their critical thinking, problem solving, and quantitative reasoning skills. This course provides a quantitative foundation for life-long learning.
