The course examines foundational, patient-centered concepts for nursing practice including the concepts of functional ability and optimal human function, mobility, and sensory perception. The patient centered concepts of motivation and adherence are examined as a foundation for teaching the student how to effectively educate patients for optimal self-management and function.
