Description:
-
Basic ideas of quantum field theory for bosonic and fermionic fields are covered, with an emphasis on quantum electrodynamics. Quantum field theory is constructed from a classical Lagrangian. Feynman diagrams are applied to calculate relativistic scattering processes to lowest order in perturbation theory. Knowledge of basic quantum mechanics is required.
