(May not be taken as a substitute for any other course) Prerequisites: Enrollment as an upper-division Visual Arts major; student must have taken a minimum of three courses in the fine arts. These courses must be completed with a 3.33 average. Preregistration with signed approval of an art faculty sponsor and of department chair required. Independent study is for students engaged in advanced work only, and is an opportunity to develop personal interests and strengths within the major field. Emphasis is on individual, self-guided work under the supervision of a faculty advisor and/or committee. May be repeated.
