Prerequisites: HES 103/203, reserved for Health and Exercise Science majors This course provides students with basic concepts and principles pertaining to nutrition and energy metabolism as well as various quantitative methods used in nutritional analysis. It focuses on most current and research-based information pertaining to the positive influence of proper nutrition on health, fitness, and sports performance and hands-on experiences for evaluating dietary status and energy balance.
