CHI 151 - Beginning Intensive Chinese I

This course is an intensive introduction to spoken and written Chinese, emphasizing aural comprehension and speaking, accompanied by practice in reading and writing. Cultural audiovisual materials complement written course materials and emphasize the link between language and culture. Oral Proficiency Class is required. CHI 151 replaces CHI 101 and 102 and covers the material from these two courses in a single semester. Students enrolled in CHI 151 will earn two course units for the course. There are no prerequisites for CHI 151, and the course assumes no prior knowledge of Chinese. Students who have studied Chinese prior to enrolling at TCNJ should consult with the professor regarding adequate placement before registering.
