An introductory study of the basic laws of genetics, the physical and chemical basis of inheritance, genes as functional and structural units of heredity and development, and qualitative and quantitative aspects of genetic variation. Human genetics and social implications are discussed. May be used in partial fulfillment of the General Education Requirements in Natural Science. Prerequisite: BIO 172 or 152 or equivalent.
