Examines the origins of Presbyterians and other non-conformists in Scotland from the 16th - 17th centuries up to the present day. Students will read primary and secondary sources that describe the doctrinal, ecclesiastical and political views of the Covenanters, why they stayed separate from the state church even when Scotland became Presbyterian, and how their legacy has led to the modern day Reformed Presbyterian experience in Scotland. Prerequisites: BIB 112 113 or BIB 151 152.
