Basic concepts of geology, emphasizing the physical and chemical nature of the Earth and the dynamic processes that shape it. Review of surficial and deep earth processes including rock formation, plate tectonics, weathering and erosion, formation of landscapes, and crustal deformation. Two lecture/recitation periods and one four-hour lab. Prerequisite or Co-requisite: MATH 121; or by approval of Engineering Department Chair. Spring.
