This course is a continuation of MOD 411. Class material provides students with a strong aesthetic focus, and fine-tunes personal artistry with regard to technical and performance execution. Students learn to work innovatively with technical terminology in order to execute a wide range of advanced and diverse movement motifs. Prerequisite: MOD 411 with a final grade of "C" or better. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Proficiently perform advanced level modern dance technique skills that include a strong aesthetic/performance focus. (2) Quickly anticipate movement outcome in combination work with advanced level accuracy. (3) Be proficient with combining and reorganizing movement sequences in an articulate and organized fashion and be able to quickly process and prioritize tasks for the most positive outcome. (4) Demonstrate performance skills and expressiveness while dancing incorporating dramatic content and physical intent. (5) Execute exercises and movement combinations with advanced level musical acuity. (6) Maintain consistent performance skills with regard to dynamic play and physical intent. (7) Organize and implement methods for self-evaluation. (8) Critically evaluate class work and the work of others. (9) Possess the technical proficiency required of a professional dancer.
