This course is a continuation of MOD 211 focusing on skills that develop spatial awareness, dynamic play, movement organization and strength. Musicality and functional alignment are stressed. Performance skills are introduced. Prerequisite: MOD 211 with a grade of "C" or better. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Adopt and modify a selection of ways to stabilize and organize the body while moving and shifting weight. (2) Adopt and modify elementary exercises and movement combinations applying low-intermediate technique. (3) Adopt and modify elementary use of breath support and physical intent in a wide range of exercises and movement combinations. (4) Anticipate movement outcome in combination work with elementary-level accuracy. (5) Execute exercises and movement combinations with musical acuity and be able to improvise at an elementary level. (6) Exhibit elementary performance skills. (7) Critically evaluate their class work and the work of others.
