This course introduces the student to makeup design, 3 dimensional makeup, prosthetic makeup, application and creation of beards, mustaches and wigs, non-realistic/fantasy makeup, period makeup and ways of achieving quick changes in makeup. Prerequisite: PROD 124. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Develop a successful makeup design. (2) Create 3 dimensional makeup using a variety of products. (3) Create and use prosthetic makeup pieces and the face molds to create them on. (4) Ventilate beards, mustaches and wig hairlines and apply them properly. (5) Create non-realistic and fantasy makeup. (6) Understand the variations in makeup for various historical periods and how to create those looks. (7) Develop ways of creating distinctive looks in a quick change situation.
